Ben first felt God’s call to ministry at age 16 in his home church in Macon, Georgia. After graduating from high school, he spent 16 years traveling extensively while successfully pursuing a career in Professional Rodeo. As God’s calling intensified, Ben’s path led full circle back to ministry when, in 2009, he accepted the position of Church Administrator and, soon after, Associate Pastor for Youth and Young Adult Ministry at a thriving mid-town church in Middle Georgia.
Ben holds an undergraduate degree in Leadership and Ministry from Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky, a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary, and is currently working to earn a Doctor of Ministry degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. Since 2020, he has served as the 95th Pastor of Midway Locust Grove Church in Columbia, Missouri. Ben’s ministry has led to exponential growth in church membership and community outreach. He is humble in his evangelism, which has led to countless new followers of Christ.
Ben’s commitment to excellence was recognized in 2022 when he was awarded the prestigious Harry Denman Evangelism Award by The Foundation for Evangelism. This award honors pastors who exhibit exceptional ministry of evangelism, bringing people into a life-transforming relationship with Jesus Christ. Ben fully believes that transparency, integrity, and authenticity are the keys to healthy, fruitful relationships.
Ben is a Bible scholar and a dynamic speaker with a magnetic personality that naturally appeals to people from all walks of life. As a gifted teacher, he has the unique talent of presenting God’s Word in easily understood terms and with fresh insight. It is palpable, it is real, it is contagious. He is down to earth, honest, and without pretense.
Ben believes life is an adventure and loves all things outdoors: hiking, hunting, fishing, and, as time permits, working in his leather and woodworking shop. He is the owner of The Simplify Project Company, a movement to get back to the basics of authentic community by living simply and loving much. He and his wife, Stacy, have two sons, Wick and Zeke, and a black lab, Ruby, and reside in Columbia, Missouri.
